NYC transit worker Kenneth Hoyt does 'platform control' during rush hour on the uptown Lexington Ave. line at the Grand Central subway station on the same day that the contract between the Transit Worker's Union (TWU) and the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) expired on Friday, December 16, 2005.  The TWU's leadership has decided to continue with contract negotiations for at least another four days before declaring a strike, and Hoyt, a subway conductor who has been with the MTA for 36 years, said he hopes the union doesn't "give in."
